on october 12/13/14th the wukf junior and cadets world champioships took place in novi sad, serbia.
the squad that went out with karate sport england was made up of 36 athletes, and over 40 coaches, referees and spectators.
there were 26 countries taking part, with over 1700 competitors, the competition was run using 12 tatamis, with 200 referees and 156 coaches.
Karate england made 11 finals, winning 5 of them.
The total medals haul was 5 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze.
from sesk there were 6 athletes - Aaron Routh, who had a good first fight, and then went on to have
a hard fight which he fought very well, but unfortunately went out in that round.
Amy Hulbert, who scored the first point, but then just gave the other girl a little too much respect, and went out first round.
Imaany kuahendren had some outstanding fights, and went on to take a well deserved bronze
albie warner fought well in his individual but the other fighter got the better of him, and he went out first round, however he then fought in the shobu ippon team rotation, and went on to take the bronze medal.
then we come to samuel hulbert, whos dedication to training, his hard work, and indomitable spirit, took him through several rounds in a category withh 44 competitiors split into 2 pools, he didnt have one easy fight, beating a really excellent french fighter, and then going on to beat romania to the gold medal and become world champion!!!!!!!!!!!! he also went on to take silver in both shobu sanbon teams and shobu sanbon team rotation. wow!
